Juvenile Section AGM: At the meeting the following positions were filled: Chairman: Colm Damery; Vice-Chair: Donncha Spriggs; Secretary: Nick O’Callaghan; Treasurer: Kevin Heelan; Registrar: Willie O’Donovan. Selectors were also allocated to each of the teams falling under the Juvenile umbrella for 2011, the main contact for each group is as follows: Minor – Declan O’Connell; U16– Colm Damery; U14– Kevin Hilliard; U12– Liam Leahy; U11– Willie O’Donovan; U10– John Kidney; U9– Nick O’Callaghan; U8– Paul Donnachie; U7&U6– Pat Looney. Training for each of the teams will begin at various times over the next month or so.
Minor hurling (2010): The 2010 minor season finally came to an end on Jan 14th 2011 when the lads went down to St. Mark’s in the semi-final of the hurling County league, with the game finishing St. Mark’s 3-10 to Cobh 1-08. Having won both the league & championship in football in East Cork and following this up with the East Cork hurling league title, while losing out in the hurling championship final and both the hurling and football non-exam summer leagues, the minors had a very busy year which delivered a good share of success. Well done to all involved with the team and here’s looking forward to the new season which is already only just around the corner.
Adult Gaelic Football Training Commences: Training for the new football season takes place on Tuesday and Friday nights in the Top Pitch at 7:45pm. New players are welcome to come along and join in. Join Cobh Gaa on Facebook .
