Sunday 5th December sees Cobh Darts take on their East Cork counterparts, in the first leg of the home/away fixture, at the 2 Mile Inn Midelton. First game at 3pm sharp. An inter league competition was one of the highlight of the darting calendar for many years but this competition withered away in the last 8 to 10 years. This will be the first official contest between the two associations, and is envisaged to become an annual event. Cobh Darts currently have some fine players within their ranks,some are competing very well in outside competitions around the county, with many new younger players coming through also. This is a great oppurtunity for these players to test their ability outside the Great Island.
The teams, made up of 13 players, were selected by a 7 man committee. The selection was incredibly close, which mirrors the talent available. The 2 teams below, a first and second selection will represent Cobh on the day of the first leg;
A selection; Mark Hurley, Richie McGrath, Richie Duggan, Gary Halpin, Paul McGee, Pat Hannon, Joe Hurley, Coley ODriscoll, Paddy Lawlor, Mick Daly, Andy Stavrianos, Ollie Ryan and Tim OShea.
Capt; Willie Hourihan (non playing)
B selection; Sean Lynch, Damien Rowe, Connie Keating, Tony Stavrianos, James Young, William McGrath, Michael Halpin, Peter Halpin, Rory O’Flaherty, Thomas Cunningham, James Quigg, Chris Keogh, Patsy Histon.
Capt; James Young.
