Cobh Pirates bow out of the Dennehy Cup going down to Cork Constitution 17-7. Cobh started the better of the teams in the opening half , moving the ball at every oppurtunity and were rewarded with a try from Tadhg Hawes, converted by number 10 Ian Jones. Shortly before the break Con replyed in the corner to leave it 7-5 in favour of Cobh at half time. The 2nd half told a different story with Con putting phases of play together, and they began to find gaps. Mid way through the 2nd half Con were rewarded for their pressure with a 2nd try, leaving Cobh to chase the game. This, the first competitive game for this very young team, was a good outing. Wit ha few players to return from injury etc it will certainly stand well to them in the up coming leagues

The Pirates will be holding a table quiz in the club house this Thursday night, 30th Sept, at 9 pm. All arewelcome with prizes etc galore. Teams €40 each.
