The Springfield Ramblers Club extends its congratulations to Jason Abbott form the Under 16 Premier League team on his selection for the Republic of Ireland Under 17 Emerging Talent Squad. Jason travelled to Italy with the squad this week to play matches against the Monza Academy and Inter Milan.
Ireland had a great victory against Monza, winning 2-1. Jason came on in the second half and played very well. Their next game was against Inter Milan and Jason started in centre midfield in direct competition with the Italian captain. In 30 degrees heat the Italians won out. All the Inter players are full time and train twice a day, and this showed in the match.
On his return Jason found out that he is called up to be on standby for the Irish Under 17 team that are heading to Malta for the European championships on the 28th of September. Well done from everyone in the club. Jason would like to thank the Springfield Ramblers club for all their support.
