The New Gallery Room AT Fort Camden

Fort Camden has opened it’s gates for the first time to the public, on September 4th! The Rescue Camden Group, with help of dedicated volunteers and donations by local businesses, has renovated the first two rooms of the once abandoned Fort overlooking beautiful Cork Harbour! The rooms have been transformed into a Museum and an Art Gallery. Hundreds of people attended the opening last weekend.

Here is what Skully and the Rescue Camden Group had to say on Facebook:

“FORT CAMDEN is uniting our community! hundreds of people from all walks of life, from all over the Country came to support us. People wept, people laughed, old friends met again, families came together. Our small band of volunteers made it look as if we open Forts every week! Everything went off without a hitch… A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!!”

The Fort will be open to the public on a limited basis every Saturday and Sunday from 12.00pm to 5.00pm for the Month of September.
