GAALindaOConnell with the camogie playersCobh Gaa Notes:

Santa calls in to see the young hurlers of Cobh. On Saturday last the hurlers from the under 8s and Saturday morning training group were delighted to have a personal visit from the man in the Red suit only a few days before his big night. On a festively crisp day each child received a small gift from Santa, while Linda O’Connell, a member of the Cork camogie team who once again captured the All-Ireland trophy this year, and aunt to our own Nathan O’Connell, also called in to wish the kids a happy Christmas. Each of the players also received a certificate of participation to mark the year they have just completed on the hurling pitch. A big thank you to the organisers of the party and to the very special guests, Linda and Santa. Thank you to the members of the Cobh Gaa Golfing Society who recently made a much-appreciated presentation to the Juvenile section to help with the expense of preparing all of the teams under their care.

GAASanta gives out the goodiesOn Imokilly Duty: Well done to Jamie Moynihan, Cian Spriggs, Alan O’Flynn and Eddie Walsh who all played in the recent U16 football interdivisional blitz for Imokilly. The blitz is part of the preparation for the Cork U17 development squad for 2010 and the Cobh lads contributed handsomely to Imokilly victories over Carrigdhoun and Muskerry.
