Lakewood Rangers 3-0 Cobh Ramblers Mon 12th July
Ramblers suffered a heavy defeat in this league game played in Ovens. Reigning champions Lakewood Rangers opened brightly and had Ramblers under pressure from the start and this pressure was rewarded with a goal after only 5 mins. Then just 3 mins later Ramblers suffered another setback when they lost influential midfielder Linda Mc Namara through injury. Chloe Smith and Ciara Duffy both had long range efforts narrowly wide before Rangers extended their lead with a well taken goal. In fairness to this Ramblers team they came out fighting in the second half as they pressed Lakewood all over the pitch. However disaster fell when a short back pass went horribly wrong for the Ramblers full back and Lakewood gladly accepted the present to make the score 3-0. Then Eilish Walsh tipped a screamer of a shot over the bar, with the introduction of Elaine Feen there seemed to be more of a lift in Ramblers tempo and they created a number of half chances but to no avail against a well organised Lakewood team.

Douglas Hall 3-3 Cobh Ramblers Wed 14th July
This match must surely be the most dramatic game played in the 2010 season. Ramblers started the game the brighter of the two teams and they created a number of half chances but unfortunately to no avail. However slightly against the run of play Douglas availed of slack play by the Ramblers defence and they took the lead in the 38th min. Douglas Hall are currently 3rd in the league and in the second half they scored a further 2 goals as they displayed clinical finishing in front of goal. Ramblers were battling hard to contain the Douglas onslaught especially Orianna Mc Grath and Captain Sinead O’Brien. With 15 mins remaining the drama began, a downpour of heavy rain made conditions very difficult for both sides but not even this downpour could dampen the spirit the wonderful spirit of this Ramblers side. With 12 mins remaining substitute Ciara Duffy beat the full back at the corner flag and she fired over a perfect cross that Chloe Smith rammed into the Douglas net. 5 mins later full back Lorna Phelan scored from 25 yards unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the Douglas net. With 2 mins to go Orianna Mc Grath had a shot stopped charged down by a Douglas players hand inside the box and referee Larry Buckley had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Up stepped right full back Mary Mc Donnell and after a lengthy delay due to an injury to a Douglas player, Mary showed excellent composer as she scored the penalty to level the game. When the referee blew the final whistle 2 mins later a fantastic comeback was complete to leave Ramblers singing in the rain.
