Participants at the recent Child Welfare In Sport Course

“Child Safety & Welfare in Sport” :  31 people involved with coaching the youth of Cobh G.A.A. & Camogie Clubs are now certified as having completed the ‘Child Safety & Welfare in Sport’ course which became mandatory in 2010 for all sporting organisations. The same group of people are also currently being Garda vetted which, when combined with the aforementioned obligation, will ensure that Cobh G.A.A. Club & Camogie Club continue to provide safe, healthy, supportive & enjoyable environments for all who choose to partake in our games.

‘Have-A-Go’ – Children born between 1999 and 2003, and who haven’t played before, are invited to come along and try out the game of hurling on the main Gaa pitch between 2:30pm and 4pm on 12th of June. Hurleys and helmets will be supplied on the day so why not come up and ‘Have-A-Go’. (No cost involved)

Results: Minor Non-Exam

IHL: Cobh 0-16 St Vincents 2-12.   U14 HL  Cobh 3-6  Youghal 3 –12.

U14 Féile Peil : Listary (Kerry) 4- 6 Cobh 1-2, Cobh 4-10  Kiskeam (Cork)  3-3,  Cobh 2-6 Wolfe Tones(Clare) 4-8.

U14 H C’ship: Youghal 3-10  Cobh 2 –6.  Cobh bowed out of the East Cork Championship to favourites Youghal this week. The lads put in a very brave display in the first half and went in level at half time. The second half saw Youghal pull away and run out 7 point victors. The Cobh lads can be very proud of their whole hearted display that showed a big improvement over the same opposition from last year.

Best wishes to Shane Cullimore and Darragh Kelleher who play for Imokilly in the U14 Divisional Hurling Championship on Saturday.
