The adult tag rugby, now in its 2nd season, re-commences on Tuesday 15th June at 19.00. It is the same format as last year with teams of 10 players, 3 non rugby players, 3 ladies and 4 rugby players. There will be 7 players on the field at any time, 3 rugby players, 2 non and 2 ladies. Games are 20 minutes long, 10 minutes a-side. The playing area is approx 50 meters long and 30 wide.
The entry cost is €100 per team, with the date for the finals is to be confirmed. The day/evening of the finals a Bbq and live music is being planned. The bbq and live entertinment on the final day is inclusive in the entry fee for all participants. Last year a total of 8 teams were fielded and we hope to build on that figure this year. Any one who took part in last years league will testify that it is great “craic” and not taken too seriously, with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment.
Cobh Pirates are happy to announce that we will be handing over the cheque for the monies raised, in our Charity Benefit match, on Friday 11th June in the Paddock. This will co-incide with our adults awards night, where players are acknowledged for there hard work and committment for the season past.
