Trigon Hotels has been shortlisted at the prestigious Hotel & Catering Gold Medal Awards 2022. The awards are recognised as the leading independent awards programme for the Irish hospitality industry.

The group’s hotels are shortlisted across four categories. The Cork International Hotel is a finalist in the Best Business & Conference Hotel and Best Sustainability Hotel. The Metropole Hotel is in the running to be named Best City Hotel and Best Hotel Breakfast.

More than 460 entries from 150 hotels, guest houses, country houses, restaurants, cafés and bars across the island of Ireland were submitted this year. It’s the 33rd year of the programme which recognises and rewards excellence in the hospitality industry.

The awards are judged by a panel of experts from across the hospitality, culinary and catering sectors.

Aaron Mansworth, Managing Director of Trigon Hotels, said, “It’s a great way to finish off 2022 with the news that our hotels are shortlisted in four categories at the Gold Medal Awards. The credibility and impartial nature of the judging process is well recognised at these awards. There is a strict set of criteria and a blind site inspection carried out by a panel of industry experts which makes our four nominations very special. I want to extend a huge well done to the teams at both hotels. The hard work and dedication they show each and every day is clear to see and it would be wonderful to see them recognised with a Gold Medal in January.”

The winners will be announced at a gala event at The Galmont Hotel & Spa, Galway on Tuesday the 31st of January 2023.  The awards are sponsored by Virgin Media.
