20+ local musicians, five bands perform for Red Cross on Friday in Commodore Hotel

Five bands perform in The Jack Doyle Room on Friday night as a fundraiser for the Red Cross’ work in Ukraine.
Local favourites Dr Dec and The Side Effects perform with the Urge, Sway, Ruth O’ Brien Band and Colaiste Mhuire transition year band, Telassa to help raise money for the Red Cross and its work in Ukraine.
“We all just felt we could do something that would help people contribute to a clue that is as urgent as this one is now,” said Jim Quinlan singer with Sway, and ex-mayor of Cobh.
“The Red Cross relies on charitable contributions for all the important work we do, which saves lives after all,” said Hylda Murphy, Treasurer of Cobh Red Cross. “Events like this that help us raise funds and draw attention to the vital work we do everywhere are always welcome.”
“This is a chance for the Cobh community to pull together and contribute: Dance or Donate – and hopefully have a laugh doing it. So it’s a win-win – and we all contribute something.”
Tickets cost €15 – and can now be purchased from reception at The Commodore Hotel.
Cobh Red Cross will sell all tickets and collect inside. Kick off at 7.45 pm in the order:
Telassa, Sway, Ruth O’Brien, The Urge, Dr Dec & The Side Effects
If you cannot go, or want to retain your hearing you can still DONATE here – which goes straight to Irish Red Cross’ emergency appeal.
