The hugely successful 8 – part series hosted by Louise Duffy saw her meet some of Ireland’s leading musicians and artists
The Coronas will feature on the much anticipated season finale of Sea Church Productions ‘The Ballycotton Sessions’. The 8-part series, hosted by Louise Duffy, featured some of Ireland’s best-known and well-loved musicians and artists perform and chat amid the stunning surroundings of Ballycotton Village. The final episode will be aired this Thursday, April 7th.
The east Cork village’s newly renovated Sea Church continues to be one of several picturesque backdrops used across the series. The acts featured included The Academic, Robert Grace, Damien Dempsey, Wallis Bird, Rapper J Yellow L, Saint Sister, Jack L and The Coronas. Each episode aimed to spotlight one artist who would join Louise for an interview and perform.
Whether you’re lucky enough to be a local, a frequent visitor, or someone with fond memories of trips to this beautiful village, Ballycotton is a special place. A picturesque, laid-back fishing village 40km from Cork city, Ballycotton is the ideal location for chat and music framed by the magnificent ocean views.
Sea Church general manager John Kidney says working on the series has been a wonderful experience: “We have been thrilled with the feedback from the series so far. People have really taken to it. Working with these extremely talented artists and the great people of Ballycotton who made us feel at home helped create a great atmosphere for our work. It’s a privilege for us to see these artists in action up close and to have the chance to show off the incredible beauty of Ballycotton”.
Michael Lynch of AV3 media says: “The past two years have been such a rollercoaster for the live music industry. This show is a fantastic way to signal that Ireland’s amazing musical talent is back in business. With the combination of this music, the artists and the stunning location, this show will is a real treat for our audience”.
The final episode of ‘The Ballycotton Sessions’ will air on Thursday, April 7th at 11 pm and will also be available to view on-demand on the RTE player.
