Cobh Ramblers kick-off 2022 campaign on Saturday

SSE Airtricity First Division football returns this weekend and for Cobh Ramblers it’s a trip to Bishopsgate to face Longford Town.
Longford who finished last season bottom of the Premier Division and relegated have been busy with signings in the close-season as Manager Gary Cronin bolsters his side in a bid to return to the elite division, however, pre-season hasn’t gone too well with them losing three and drawing two out of the five friendlies.
Similarly at Cobh Ramblers, Manager Darren Murphy has been busy with new signings and re-signing and has introduced some academy players into the fold. All in all it’s quite a young squad in terms of LOI experience but pre-season hasn’t been too bad at all with a couple of wins under their belt. Murphy who was recently quoted as saying ‘We have brought in young talent with a lot of potential and we have brought in some experienced lads also and I always believe you need to have that balance’, also has a Munster Senior Cup semi-final date against Munster Senior League side Rockmount to look forward to and a possible Cup Final day at Turners Cross on 30th May should they overcome the MSL side.
Kick-off against Longford Town this Saturday is 7.30pm and the game is being live-streamed by LOITV at www.loitv.ie
