Goalkeeper Paul Hunt and defender Stephen O’Connor have today become the latest players to re-sign for Cobh Ramblers ahead of the 2020 League of Ireland campaign.
Experienced netminder Hunt will remain at St Colman’s Park for a fifth season, having originally joined from Longford Town in 2016. With 114 senior appearances, Paul is one of the most capped goalkeepers in Ramblers history and he has played a key role in the club’s recent seasons.
Speaking about the announcement Paul had this to say,
“I’m delighted to have signed back. I’m really looking forward to next season and trying to push team on to where it should be, fighting at the top end of the table.”
Also signing back is young defender Stephen O’Connor. The 19 year old made his debut at home to Shelbourne in 2018 and has made 12 senior appearances to date, 11 of which came in 2019. He first joined the club’s U19 set-up in 2017.
He had this to say regarding the news,
“I’m really looking forward to getting out playing again in the season ahead. I’ve spent the past couple of seasons progressing with the U19s and I’m excited to become a full member of the first team. I’m confident that there is a good year ahead for us. Hopefully we can build on last year and push the top teams in the league.”
