It has been another busy month for Cobh Tidy Towns which saw the metamorphosis on the wall of the Irish Rail shed on the Five Foot Way! Kevin O’ Brien from Viva Media has created a magnificent colourful mural of native Irish butterflies for you to enjoy. We were delighted to accept a donation of €4000 from A+Fitness after their fantastic completion of the Cork City Marathon. Thank you to all the athletes. Plans will be revealed soon for a project this funding will be used for.

All entries to the recent Schools Dog Fouling Poster competition are on display in an exhibition in Cobh Library until 8th August. Watch out for the winning posters appearing on signs around Cobh. Look out too for the Refill stickers in business windows around Cobh. Cobh Zero Waste volunteers have been around talking to business owners about the benefits of providing a free refill of tap water to people who use reusable water bottles.

There has been a super response from Pharmacies to Cafes and Barbershops to Take Aways. Just ask! This is an attempt to reduce the number of single use plastic bottles in circulation in Cobh many of which we end up picking up on street and beach cleans. We were delighted to meet with Ballingarry Tidy Towns on a recent visit to Cobh. They were highly complimentary about our beautiful town.
