There are only days left to the third Cork International Travel Fair which will bring together travel agents, holidaymakers, hotels and many others.

Today Air France have confirmed they will be giving away two return flights from Cork to Paris as a prize for those attending the Cork International Travel Fair in association with Cork Airport. The Travel Fair will take place this coming weekend at the Cork International Hotel on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of February.

Over the weekend prizes to the value of €4,000 can be won by people attending the fair – these include trips to Dubrovnik, Cornwall and now Paris.

Thousands of people are expected at the event, which is now in its third year. Attendees will learn about new holiday destinations from various exhibitors. It is estimated that over the last two years €200,000 worth of holidays were booked at the event. The Travel Fair will be open from 11am to 5.30pm every day and is free to attend.

With Ireland playing England in the Six Nations rugby championship on Saturday afternoon, the Cork International Hotel will be showing the game for anyone who would like to combine their passion for rugby with making their holiday plans.

General Manager at the Cork International Hotel, Carmel Lonergan said: “What is very exciting about the Cork International Travel Fair is the number of prizes to be won by those who attend. Not only that but we will have hundreds of holiday offers which are only available at the Cork International Travel Fair. It is certainly the go-to event for anyone planning a holiday.”

Bénédicte Duval, General Manager of Air France KLM UK & Ireland said “We are delighted to be giving away a pair of tickets to Paris at the Cork International Travel Fair – just in time for Valentine’s Day! The support we have received from the local community since the route launched in May 2018 has been remarkable and we are proud to have already announced a capacity increase of 24%, providing further choice and connectivity for those living in Southern Ireland choosing to holiday abroad.”

Head of Communications at Cork Airport, Kevin Cullinane said: “The 2019 Cork International Travel Fair promises to be a fantastic event. There will be so much for holidaymakers to choose from, with Cork Airport, Ireland’s second busiest and best connected international airport, now serving over 50 routes across the UK, Continental Europe and the east coast of the USA. For those wishing to travel further afield, passengers can easily connect to further long haul destinations from Cork Airport via the major international hubs of London Heathrow, Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol airports. I would encourage anyone seeking some holiday inspiration to come along this weekend and see the myriad of travel options available direct from Cork Airport.”

Initially launched as a seasonal service in May 2018, the Air France Cork-Paris route was later confirmed as a year round service due to positive bookings. The route offers Cork based passengers quick and convenient connections to 195 destinations worldwide via the Air France hub at Charles de Gaulle airport. The daily flight is operated by Air France Hop! using Embraer E-190 aircraft, carrying up to 100 passengers.
