Bakestone Cafe, the popular East Cork cafe, have just announced a series of concerts for the summer season at the historical Fota House, Arboretum and Gardens on Fota Island in East Cork. Live at Fota House is a five concert series featuring some of Ireland’s best loved folk artists including Martin Hayes & Dennis Cahill (Thursday 14th June), Jack L (Saturday 14th July), Cork’s own White Horse Guitar Club (Friday 24th August) and Declan O’Rourke (Friday 5th October). Tall Tales and Tall Trees, a weekend long autumnal festival celebration, will also take place as part of the series from the 7th to the 9th of September – the line-up for this weekend is set to be announced in July!

The 80 capacity drawing room at Fota House is a beautifully ornate room, an intimate space for a series that no doubt will attract music lovers from East Cork and beyond. Tickets for all concerts are priced at €30. Doors for each show open at 7pm and concerts start at 7.30pm with a 10pm curfew (including a half hour interval for refreshments). The Bakestone team will also be serving charcuterie boards, wine and craft beer on the night for what is promising to be a unique concert experience!

Bakestone Cafe (a sister business to Ballincollig’s renowned gastropub and music venue, The White Horse), recently took over the cafe space at Fota House and open from 10 – 5 Monday to Sunday serving their much-loved selection of savoury and sweet treats, tea and coffee. Located just 1.5 miles from their headquarters at Fota Retail Village in Carrigtwohill, the cafe has become a hugely popular destination for a great brunch or lunch. Their new Pantry ( located at HQ) features an array of artisan, Irish products, many of which are created by local, East Cork suppliers.

A concert destination with a difference, audiences are encouraged to get the train from Cork Kent to Fota (€5.40 for a return journey). Why not arrive early and enjoy a tour around Fota House and the beautifully restored Victorian Working Garden, which can be arranged by phoning 021-4815543 in advance to book.
