Haulbowline Theatre Group – Cobh Arts Festival Event 2018

Published

on

For the second year running, Haulbowline Theatre Group is delighted to be taking part in the Cobh Arts Festival Event.

“Wallpaper” by Joanne McCall along with two other short plays written by Glenn Kavanagh and David McCall will be performed at the Sirius Arts Centre on Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th of April. Curtain-up is at 3pm.

The afternoon’s programme takes a look at life in 21st Century Ireland. Things have changed so much, but have we really changed at all? There is a mixture of confrontation, comedy and sadness in what is best described as real-life drama in all three plays.

Admission is free on the afternoon, with donations also kindly accepted.

The production forms part of a whole week of events taking place in the town for the Cobh Arts Festival Event (Readers & Writers Festival) running from the 26th–29th of April inclusive.

This Shrove Tuesday March 5th, Haulbowline Theatre Group performs its latest Skilligin’ adventure “A Tale of Skilligin’” in Ryan’s Bar at 9:00pm and in The High Chapperal at 10:15pm.

A blizzard has hit the village and the hooley that has been planned doesn’t seem to promise much for the evening until an unexpected guest shows up. Could it be that Paidín, a lonely and unfulfilled farmer finally gets to achieve what he has been longing for?

Admission is free but arrive early to avoid disappointment as the capacity of the venues is limited.

Also on the bill: Singaround with Jimmy Crowley and local singers – Ryan’s Bar 7-10pm & The Skilligin’ Ball with the Carrigcove Céilí Band – The High Chapperal 9pm-Late

Join us for a last night of craic agus ceol after your pancakes on Shrove Tuesday before the fasting for Lent begins!
