Chamber welcome Cobh Town Centre Streetscape Funding
Cobh and Harbour Chamber welcomes the news that Cork County Council has committed €1m for the upgrade of the Cobh town centre streetscape in conjunction with Irish Water’s upcoming Cork Lower Harbour Main Drainage Scheme which will commence early next year. Mr. Tim Lucey, Chief Executive of Cork County Council made the announcement at the Chamber’s recent Spring Lunch.
Cobh & Harbour Chamber has been working continuously towards having the Cobh streetscape upgraded in line with the Scott Tallon Walker report which was commissioned by the Chamber in 2007. More recently, Cobh & Harbour Chamber have worked together with local organisations such as Cobh Tourism and Cobh Tidy Towns in lobbying Irish Water and Cork County Council to facilitate the streetscape upgrade. The Chamber has been working closely with Irish Water for the past 18 months in relation to the Cobh segment of the Lower Harbour Main Drainage Scheme and will continue to keep the people and businesses of Cobh informed on its progress in the run up to and during the works.
