Cobh People’s Regatta takes place from Friday 12th August to Sunday August 14th 2016. As usual there is a full programme of entertainment with the Grand Finale spectacular Fireworks display taking place on Sunday night.
There will be a cruise liner in Cobh on both Saturday and Sunday with a Summer Swing event and markets on both days. Apart from Friday night’s programme, all performances will take place in the Promenade. This year the Friday evening events take place around the Commodore Hotel & the Jack Doyle Room.

8-00pm Sinead Shepard’s School of Dance
8-30pm Official Opening of the 2016 Cobh People’s Regatta
8-45pm Interview by Dr Michael Martin of Queen Contestants
9-15pm The King (Paul Brady) will entertain ‘till late
11-pm Festival Club in Club C with Drumming District to open up three nights of fantastic Festival Club Entertainment.
Saturday 13th August, Free Family Fun Day
8-00am Liner Marina Docks at Port of Cork’s Deep Water Quay
11-00am Market Stalls open
11-45am Karl and Sean Long will entertain you on the Band Stand Sponsored by Summer Swing.
2-00pm Fancy Dress Parade leaves from the Well House and arrives at the
Promenade. This year’s suggested theme is 1916 and there are two categories, 3-7 years, and 8-12 years.

4-00pm – Kids Got Talent, Live on the Band Stand
4-30pm – DJ Mark O’Driscoll will entertain you with all your favourite sounds
6-00pm – Local Band Nuclear City will play a selection of popular sounds.
– Dunk Tank New to this year’s Regatta and it does exactly what it says!
Entry to any of the above is free however all children must be accompanied by an Adult.
On The Water
1-45pm Firing of First Gun to Start Dinghy Sailing (Presented by Covh Sailing Club)
2-00pm The 2nd annual Rankin Dinghy Revival Race at the Promenade
4-15pm Presentation of Sailing Prizes
11-00pm The second night of the Festival Club see Trad Sensation Gaelic Brew take to the stage in the Jack Doyle Room while simultaneously there is a Disco in Club C. Please note admission to the Festival Club includes both events.
Sunday 14th August
Free Family Fun Day in the Promenade
8-00am – The Liner Caribbean Princess returns to Cobh for another visit and docks at the Port of Cork Terminal at the Deep Water Quay.
11-00am – Market Stalls open in the Promenade. Musical entertainment on the Band Stand
11-45am As part of their Irish Tour Donnie Carroll Singer and Song writer and Heather Martin on Fiddle, from New York perform on the Band Stand Sponsored by Summer Swing
1-00pm – Cobh’s own Ukulele Band and Friends perform on the Band Stand
2-00pm – The very popular CORK ROKK QUIRE perform on the Band Stand
3-00pm – Trad Sensation Gaelic Brew live on the Band Stand
5-15pm – Cobh’s own Darragh Mc Gann, live on the Band Stand
6-00pm – Presentation of Sailing Prizes on the Band Stand
6-30pm – Phoenix Sound Disco will play all your favourite hits
8-00pm – Announcement of the 2016 Cobh Peoples Regatta Queen
8-15pm – J90 take to the Band Stand to complete the music entertainment for This year’s Regatta
10-00pm Spectacular Fireworks Display
11-00pm Festival Club, The Cobh People’s Regatta concludes with hit Band Phoenix including local Brian Murphy. Proceeds from the Festival Club will go to the Regatta Committee.
Children’s Entertainment includes Balloon Clowns, Face Painting and other activities includeing:
3-00pm Children’s Crab Fishing Competition starts (sponsored by Summer Swing) (Bucket Line and Bait Supplied Limited numbers available)
4-30pm Children’s Arts and Crafts in the Promenade (all arts materials supplied)
Entry to any of the above is free however all children must be accompanied by an Adult.
* New to the Regatta this year, located in the Promenade will be a Dunk Tank. Are you brave enough to try it? Bring your shorts!

2-30pm Presented by Meitheal Mara, Currach Racing (Meitheal Mara is an established boatyard & Marine Cultural and Educational centre in the heart of Cork City, and are builders of Traditional Irish Currachs.)
4-00pm Duck Race Cobh Peoples Regatta fundraiser, Ducks cost €2 each, Starts at the Naval Pier and ends at Pier Head, First Prize €500, and 5 no runner up prizes of €100
4-30pm KAYAK Duck Hunt, Kayakers try to catch as many ducks as possible
7-00pm Cobh Fisherman’s Trawler Race starts at the Pier Head.
8-00pm Best Wooden Boat Competition Sail by at the Pier Head, registration required – phone 087 6617969
