We wish to thank and acknowledge the general public for all the tremendous support and encouragement that has been received to date. Our local Councillors and national Public representatives are also lobbying hard to ensure the continuance of our local Community Hospital .
Deputy Michael Ahern has been in regular contact on behalf of himself and Minister of State Aine Brady and ensures us of his support. Deputies David Stanton and Sean Sherlock have raised the matter in the Dail and are fully supportive for the retention of adequate funding.
Collectively we must state clearly that we in Cobh are not prepared to have our local Community Hospital downgraded in status, funding or investment that will be detrimental to the levels of care currently provided and as shall be required into the future.
We in Cobh are every bit as entitled to care for our elderly and infirm in our locality close to family and friends as happens in fourteen other Cork towns with fully funded HSE Community Hospitals.
“Fair Deal” or no Fair Deal, the equivalent level of funding and staffing is the least that Cobh should expect and no downgrading shall be acceptable.
Signed,
T Stafford Chairman, A O’ Meara Secretary
