The appointment has been announced by ‘Six Nations Rugby’ of Eugene Ryan to the 6 Nations Championship Panel of Citing Commissioners.
Eugene has been appointed to the Scotland V Wales, 6 Nations International in Murrayfield on 15 February 2015.
Eugene, a retired Naval Commander, is a proud member of Cobh Pirates RFC. He is a past President of the Munster Association of Referees where he presently holds the appointment of Chairman of the Rugby Committee, responsible for Referee development. He was appointed to the IRFU Citing Commissioner Panel in 2007 and also officiates at European Cup and Pro 12 games.
This is the first time a member of the Munster Association of Referees, IRFU, has been appointed as Citing Commissioner to a 6 Nations International.
Cobh Pirates RFC would like to congratulate Eugene on this massive achievement and wish him all the best for the upcoming match asignment at Murrayfield. We are sure this is the first of many.
