Rushbrooke Tennis Club News
There’s a lot going on in Rushbrooke tennis club at the moment. Last weekend saw the start of one of our biggest internal club events, The Tribes. This is where the so called adults of the club show up to do battle with some of the members dressed as Indians from various tribes. This event runs for five weeks with matches every Friday and Sunday nights.
Competitively our teams have being very successful over the last couple of weekends.
Our Grade 1 team beat Ballinlough 5-0 and are now through to the Munster semi finals.
Our Grade 2 team beat Lower Aghada 5-0 and keep their hopes alive of qualifying.
Our Grade 4 team beat Cline 3-1 and have now progressed from their group to the knockout stages.
Our Grade 5 team beat Monkstown 4-0 and have also qualified to the group stages with a game still to play.
Our Grade 6 team beat Lower Aghada 4-0 and are also still in with a shout of qualifying.
Our junior Wilson Cup team played in miserable conditions and beat Kinsale 4-0.
Congratulations to all involved in each team.
The club will be running Easter Camps from Tuesday the 2nd of April to Friday the 5th of April. These camps will be open to non members also. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more details.
Lastly congratulations to 2 of our members Liam O Brien and Rob Leahy who have being selected to play for Ireland in Turkey in a couple of weeks time. Well done on a great achievement.
Well done to our junior Wilson Cup team who played Whitechurch away today and came home 4-0 winners in a great team performance. The team have now qualified for the semi finals and have a massive last group match against Sundays Well at home in a fortnight to see who will win the group. Well done to all the players and thanks to the parents who have travelled to the away matches over the last couple of months.
