Following receipt of a report that 2 properties in Harbour Hill, Cobh were in danger of collapse, Cobh Town Council took the decision, in the interests of public safety, to close the road on Harbour Hill. A contractor has been appointed by the Council to carry out temporary shoring works to the front of the properties and the Council is currently in discussions with a contractor in relation to the demolition of the properties in question. The Health & Safety advisors engaged by the contractor has stated that due to the site process, plant and access it is required to fully close Harbour Hill, at this time for Health and safety considerations. The Contractor has also advised that the road may be closed for a period not exceeding 3 weeks at this time.
Cobh Town Council regrets any inconvenience caused by the closure of the road. Our technical advisors are currently working with the contractor to minimise the disruption caused by the works and we will endeavour to provide access along Harbour Hill as quickly as possible.
