GAA Street Leagues – ‘A Big Thank You’
Firstly, to all the boys & girls who made the huge effort to play in this year’s Street Leagues.
Ye were fantastic throughout and a credit to ye’re parents, coaches & mentors.
The level of skill, committment, determination & sportsmanship on show has been a joy to witness and many will agree that the longterm future of juvenile hurling & camogie in Cobh is very bright indeed.
To the parents, families & friends who turned out in great numbers on the Friday nights & Sunday mornings to stand on the sidelines and offer support & encouragement.
To our sponsor Cobh Credit Union for their generous & much appreciated patronage.
To the Hayes, Kelly & Daly families for donating the winner’s trophies.
To Scoil Josaef Naofa N.S, Rushbrooke N.S, Walterstown N.S. & Gaelscoil Ui Heartaigh for their help and co-operation during the Street Leagues & the promotion of our games throughout the year.
To everyone who assisted in the organisation & execution of the whole event, without ye, it would not be the success it proves to be today.
To Cork’s new hurling manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy for giving of his time on Sunday afternoon to present the U-9 & U-7 juveniles with their medals. We wish him & the senior county panel every success for 2012 and beyond.
To Cobh G.A.A. Club chairman Bill Brannigan for giving of his time to present the trophies & medals to the U-12 teams on Friday night.
To our juvenile chairman Colm Damery and his hard working committee, families & friends for their unwavering committment to the promotion & encouragement of our Club & Games.
Finally, we wish all the boys & girls a restful “closed season” and we look forward to seeing you all back next year.
Reminder: A DVD of this year’s Street Leagues will be available shortly, priced @ €20 and stocked in Cobh Dry Cleaners on West Beach. Watch this space for date of launch.
