Cobh GAA Street Leagues 2011 – Week 4
There was a “championship intensity” in the air as the teams were aware that their quarter final opponent in week 5 depended on their table position and with just a single game on the night, each player gave of their all.
With the fine conditions enabling the skills of hurling to shine to the fore and competition for the sliotar producing close contests on the field, the efforts on the night resulted in a few positional changes on the tables, leaving no one in any doubt about who their opponent was for next week.
Sunday morning’s weather left little to be desired as the U-7’s & U-9’s braved the rain to put on a show of hurling for their committed band of followers.
With the focus on gaining possession of the small ball and oblivious to the difficult playing conditions, the young boys & girls persevered, producing great levels of excitement around the field and a bucket load of scores to match the skipped heartbeats.
Well done to all this week !
Reminder: To facilitate the Communion Mass next Sunday, the U-7’s will start @ 11.15am & the U-9’s will throw-in @ 11.45am.
