Cobh GAA Notes 9th October
Week two & round two of this year’s Cobh Credit Union sponsored Street Leagues was thankfully spared the inclement weather of last week’s opening round. However, a “chilly” Friday night did little to thwart enthusiasm as supporters wrapped up against the cold to feel the heat of hurling action when the U-12 groups took to the field for their next challenges.
Yet again, encouraged by their mentors & band of followers, admirable performances produced closely contested games with victories earned by the narrowest of margins.
With only a slight wind on Sunday morning, the fine conditions allowed the U-7 & U-9 age groups to display their hurling prowess with much more effectiveness to the large crowd of supporting families & friends. With the morning’s workmanlike effort rewarded with a total of 29 goals & 17 points scored, it was a “job well done” to say the least for all involved.
Well done to everyone and roll on week 3.
Reminder: Sunday 16th October, matches start 30 minutes earlier, i.e. U-7 @ 10.00am and U-9 @ 11.00am.
