The winning of an award in the National Tidy Towns Competition in 2012 is still all to play for. Feedback from visitors to Cobh about the visible improvements to our town in recent times was mirrored by the 2010 Tidy Towns adjudicator. “It was quite exhilarating to revisit Cobh and to see the advances that have been made in improvements to the townscape and its environs….. Onwards and upwards!”

Following on the success of the 2010 competition Cobh Credit Union has confirmed that it will be the major supporter of  Cobh Tidy Towns and the competition in 2011.

The judge for this year, Terry O’Regan is no stranger to Cobh and has a long association with previous competitions. His expertise and diligence in judging will ensure that this year’s awards ceremony in September will be an education and an inspiration.

Cobh Tidy Towns committee is encouraging everyone to enter the competition in one or more of the six categories.  Entering, either as a Residents’ Association or as an Individual Citizen means that you are playing your part in making Cobh – Great Island an even nicer place to live in, visit or do business in and bring us ever closer to our collective goal: Cobh – Ireland’s Tidiest Town! There is also the chance to share the significant Prize Fund.

The closing date for entries is 1st July.
