“Cobh Golf Club and O’Connor Family Butchers support Cork ARC Cancer Support House”
Cobh Golf Club’s Lady section has run a competition on Tuesday, 24 May in support of Cork ARC Cancer Support House (ARC stands for Aftercare, Research and Counselling). All the income from this competition, an amount of 350, was handed on to ARC Cancer Support House, who are providing outstanding emotional and practical support to people with cancer, their family and friends. The competition and prizes for the winners was generously sponsored by O’Connors Family Butchers – John & Margaret O’Connor.
Each year, Cobh Golf Club chooses three charitable organisations, which are receiving financial contributions by the Club. The Men’s Section of the Golf Club chose to support St. Mary’s School in Rochestown earlier this year.
Cork ARCCancer Support House is a voluntary organization established to provide a holistic centre in which people with cancer and their families can find emotional support and practical help. The House provides therapies that complement the medical model, so as to make a difference to the lives of those affected by cancer.Patients and relatives will find in ARC House a gentle and supportive atmosphere outside of the hospital environment.
The ARC Cancer Support House is located in the O’Donovan Rossa Road in cork, just around the corner from the main gate to the UCC, and can be contacted on 021 – 427 66 88. Information can also be found on their website www.corkcancersupport.ie.”
