Springfield Ramblers Match Reports 1st May
U12 Premier League
Douglas Hall 0 Springfield Ramblers 1
This was an important away win for Springfield Ramblers U12 team in their quest to win the Premier League title. In a tight game the Cobh side came out on top thanks to an Adam Horgan goal midway through the first half. A well organised Douglas Hall side pushed hard for an equaliser but Springfield Ramblers kept them at bay with solid displays from Adam O’Sullivan and Sean Hilliard.
U16 Division 4
Springfield Ramblers Glounthaune United
This proved to be another great home performance in a very entertaining game at the VEC grounds. Springfield Ramblers started like a train when Glen Kavanagh opened the scoring after 2 minutes with a super strike. He followed this up with a close range effort to make it 2 nil shortly after. Before half time Adam Rasmussen split the defence and Kavanagh scored his hat-trick with a lovely finish.
Early in the second half Springfield Ramblers conceded a soft goal after a few minutes of pressure from Glounthaune. With Ricky Parker, Danny Roche, Dylan Kinehan and Conor McLoughlin solid in defence the home side should have scored at least another 3 or 4 before Adam Rasmussen hammered home yet another pile driver of a free kick from outside the area. Danny Roche completed the rout with a great strike near the end. The whole team played well throughout match with Adam Rasmussen, Ricky Parker, Eoin Downing, Glen Kavanagh and Luke Doyle all doing well.

U12 Premier League
Rockmount 0 Springfield Ramblers 3
This was a great away victory for Springfield Ramblers against Premier League title rivals Rockmount. It was a fantastic performance with every one of the fourteen man squad putting in a great shift. Ramblers went ahead after ten minutes when Charlie Fleming scored after a well worked corner with Neil Harte. Adam O’Sullivan scored the second when he volleyed home a Harte corner after twenty minutes. Ramblers finished off the tie when Adam Horgan broke free and netted from twenty yards. Ramblers had top performances from Conor Hughes, Calvin Carroll & Niall Abbott. Next up for Ramblers is a home match against Avondale on Wednesday 4th May.
U16 Division 4
Springfield Ramblers Carrigaline United A
This was a great team performance from start to finish from the Cobh side. Carrigaline were pushing to get the 3 points to try and win the league but the Cobh side were more than a match for them. We defended well for the whole game and the Carrigaline front men never got a chance to settle. We made most of the chances with some great football being played throughout by the whole team. The only pity was that we couldn’t score and the Carrigaline keeper made some great saves throughout. Well done to everyone and we won’t name any players as the whole team performed well and played as a great unit together.
