Under 15 National Cup
Springfield Ramblers 7 Newcastlewest 0
Springfield Ramblers were too strong for their Limerick opponents from Newcastlewest in this National Cup Round of 36 tie in Pat O’Brien Park. The onslaught on the Newcastlewest goal started in the first minute when Brendán Frahill tapped in on the goal line from a corner. This was quickly followed by a goal from the in-form Gavin Lynch. As Springfield Ramblers had total control from kick-off the third goal followed from a brilliant run and classy finish by Paul Ronan, repeating his effort from the previous weeks’ league match. A second goal from Gavin Lynch and a goal from centre back Marc Wyatt left the Springfield Ramblers side five goals to nil in front at half time for the second week in a row. The platform for this success was the football being played by every member of the team as they played with skill and determination and great teamwork, keeping possession for long periods.
Springfield Ramblers made five substitutions early in the second half and it was a seamless transition as the substitutes carried on the good work. Two of these, Dan Gill and Ian Murphy combined down the right wing and Ian sent over an inch perfect cross for Dave Cahill to score with a bullet header! The scoring was completed when Daniel Santry finished to the net after another attack, a goal he deserved for the work rate he had shown throughout the game. This result sets the team up for another home draw in the round of 32, their opponents yet to be decided.
The club would like to thank the Newcastlewest side for making the long journey, for the sporting manner in which they approached the game and for the kind words spoken by their coach to the Springfield Ramblers players after the game. The team mentors would like to thank Garvey’s Super Valu for sponsoring drinks for the players for post match refreshments.

Under 11 Premier League
Carrigaline United 0 Springfield Ramblers 1
This was a great win for Springfield Ramblers in this top of the table clash in Ballea Park. This win puts Springfield Ramblers in pole position for Premier League honours in what’s been a very competitive league, with top contenders Mallow also losing! The winning goal was scored with five minutes left by the in-form Adam Horgan, with goalkeeper Dave Coffey pulling off a top class save well into injury time to keep Springfield Ramblers in the lead. There were also rock solid performances from Adam O’Sullivan, Conor Hughes and Niall Abbott.
Under 14 Local Cup
Riverstown A 0 Springfield Ramblers 4
This was a good win for Springfield Ramblers in this Local Cup tie having played with ten men for most of the game. Kieran Histon made three fine saves with the score at 2 nil. Goals scorers were Niall Galvin (2), Jack Ronan, and the last by Man of the Match Danny Noonan, his first for the club. Well done to the whole team.
