Cobh Hockey Club Results 13th Feb
It was back to winning ways for the Club last weekend with two emphatic results. Div 4 travelled to UCC in a must win game to keep their title hopes alive. Cobh were a bit sluggish starting but leading by example Captain Aoife Richardson put them ahead when she collected the ball on the 25 and slammed the ball to the net. Cobh settled and soon were two up when Aoife Hart slotted home from close range. The second half saw Emma Mackey put the game beyond doubt when she took a ball in the circle and turned and pushed the ball neatly to the corner. Finishing off Aoife Hart made it 4-0 again from close range.
Div 6 took on Kenmare at home and again Cobh were in fine form. They opened the scoring when Mari Moynihan hit home from a short corner. Ten mins later they made it 2-0 when Claire Stack put away a penalty flick. The second half saw Cobh totally dominate the game with some lovely moves. The Kenmare goalie kept her team in it but the pressure finally paid off for Cobh and goals from Jen O’Keeffe from close range, a fine individual goal from Sandra Green and a well struck shot from the edge of the circle from Mari Moynihan made it 5-0 to Cobh.
