On a perfect day for Tidy Towns activities, thirteen volunteers were busy this Saturday near the sheds by the Cross River Ferry in Carrigaloe. With the sheds soon to be but a memory the Tidy Towns committee has plans to make the whole area welcoming to visitors to Cobh. Forty bags of rubbish were picked off the strand and the area accross the road was strimmed and will have a lawn area sown in the next few weeks.

Earlier on Saturday the “Fota Road crew” of Paddy and Lil Histon and Lorraine Galvin were once again ensuring that the approach roads to Cobh are not strewn with litter like other roads in East Cork.

The Monday morning volunteer crew will meet at 12 noon – contact Lorraine on 085 7525586 if you can help at that time.

Cobh Tidy Towns is pleased to announce that the FreeCycle Notice Board in Garvey’s SuperValu (near the Café) is once gain operational. If you have something that is still in good working order but that you no longer need and are willing to give away simply put a notice on the board.

Remember that Cobh Tidy Towns is on Facebook so you can keep in touch with our activities and events and can contact us if you wish.
