Rushbrooke Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club has just released its calendar of events for 2011.A comprehensive list of events provides a very varied schedule which will bring a host of top players not only from Cobh,Munster,Ireland but players from all corners of the world. The first tournament up is the South Of Ireland Championships which takes place over the Easter Holiday weekend and the main senior event the Open Championship of County Cork will follow in July. These two events bring Hundreds of players and spectators to the splendid Rushbrooke setting. In July and early August junior tennis takes centre stage with the staging of the Summer Junior Irish Closed Championship of Ireland.
This event brings a host of top junior players from around the country where the highly rated players from Rushbrooke will get to show case their undoubted talents. Rushbrooke are very lucky to have not one but two junior ranking events at under 18 and under 14.These events starting at the end of July bring the cream of talent from across Europe and beyond. Anybody with a passing interest in tennis or sport in general should get along during these tournaments and witness the talent on view. A Veteran Open also takes place late in the year with seasoned players fighting for the honors .The members will also get to play a host of in-house events and also interclub friendly matches so it looks like a very busy year ahead in RLTCC.
