COBH HOCKEY CLUB
Div 4 recorded their first win of the season last weekend with a fine 3-0 win away to Bandon. Cobh had the best of starts when with only about 5 mins gone they scored from a short corner when Fiona O’Regan’s shot was deftly deflected into the net by Aoife Hart. Cobh continued to pressurise stringing together some lovely moves and this paid off when Fiona O’Regan made it 2-0 after about 20mins.
Bandon however were very dangerous on the break and on their short corners and Jessica Stack was called upon to make a couple of good saves from corners. The second half saw Cobh really come together and the passing between the midfield and forwards was excellent with one great move between Aoife Richardson, Fiona O’Regan and Grainne Kilcullen saw Grainne blast a beautiful shot to the net to make it 3-0 and the game beyond doubt. Cobh’s defence handled everything that Bandon threw at them and the game finished with the full points going to Cobh.
The Club will be holding their Annual Table Quiz in Cobh GAA on Thursday 26th November at 8.30pm Tables will be €20 and as usual there will be food and a raffle, so come along for a great night’s entertainment.
