Cobh Golf Clubs New 'Pro' David O'Sullivan

Cobh Golf Club have proudly announced the services of David O’Sullivan, an experienced Golf Professional and widely acclaimed golf coach, as new “Club Pro”.

Originally from Ballincollig, David has been operating as a Golf Professional between Cork and Dublin since 1994. Having qualified at PGA headquarters at the Belfry in 1998, David moved from Bandon Golf Club, and spent one year working at the Lee Valley Golf & Country Club. This was followed by a very successful seven-year-spell at St Margaret’s Golf & Country Club in Dublin. During his time there David held the positions of Teaching Professional, Club Professional and Director of Golf.  After returning to Cork in 2005, David spent over three years at the set- up stage of Blarney Golf Resort as Head Professional and Golf Director, and has been working with Lee Valley and Bandon GC afterwards.

David has shown great versatility and professionalism in the past: Since 2008 he is Youth Development Coach with First Tee Ireland, had one his greatest wins as Golf Professional in the 2004 Smurfit PGA Championship Pro Am (also several top 20 finishes over the years), and has also contributed to teh tuition section of an Irish Golf magazine, and was TV and Radio Panellist on TV3 and FM106, respectively. He has organised the 2002 Irish Deaf Golf Championships, and has also coached the Irish Team.

David is now looking forward to the new challenge at Cobh Golf Club’s magnificent new course as Club Professional and will be available for on-course tuition, covering all aspects of the game throughout the year.
