Springfield Ramblers 3 Midleton 1

Springfield Ramblers showed strong character to come from a goal down to win a tough game against Midleton. Despite an even first half, Midleton took a lead into the break after a long ball caught out the Springfield Ramblers defence and their striker finished well.
Springfield Ramblers started the second half well and drew level when Man of the Match Luke Stavrianos controlled a fine cross from Keith O’Flynn and held off a Midleton defender to fire into the net. Luke smashed in another soon afterwards with a fine strike from outside the box. Anthony McCarthy finished well to add a third and seal the win and mark a fine comeback by the team.

This was a great win for Springfield Ramblers in this game against last season’s great rivals Carragaline. The goals came from Adam O’Sullivan & Neil Harte. Best on the day were Niall Abbott, Calvin Carroll & Sean Hilliard. Next up is an away tie against Corinthians.

U16 Premier League

Cobh Ramblers 1 Carragaline 0

Cobh Ramblers maintained their good start to the season with this home win against Carragaline. Though the away side started better Ramblers gradually began to get the upper hand without playing at their best and the first half ended scoreless. Ramblers improved in the second half and were eventually rewarded when a cross from Man of the Match Adam Thompson eventually dropped to Brendán Frahill who finished to the corner.

U16 Division 4

Mallow United A 1 Springfield Ramblers 3

This was a great squad performance from start to finish from the Cobh Lads. We scored early in the game from a great pass from Adam Rasmussen for Glen Kavanagh to score with a sweet shot. We should have been two up but we wasted a few good chances before Mallow equalised against the run of play. Early in second half after a few positional changes Adam Rasmussen scored with a fine shot low into the corner after working hard to hold onto the ball. The match was sealed with a long pile driver from Mark Hannon giving the keeper no chance. The Cobh lads played some terrific football for the whole match best for Springfield Ramblers were Danny Roche, Adam Rasmussen and Conor McLoughlin.
