Cobh Gaa Notes 30th July
Results:
IHC: Cobh 0-14 Dripsey 2-17. The Intermediate team made their exit from this years’ championship when they went under to a better balanced Dripsey side at Pairc Uí Rinn. This seasons’ campaign has seen the introduction a lot of young blood into the Cobh team and it is hoped that this will pay dividends in the future. Manager John Ronan and his backroom team have put in a great effort, and along with coach Colm O’Brien they have brought the group to a good standard of hurling and hopefully this progression will continue in the coming years. The players have given great commitment to the team with a number having to re-arrange holiday plans to be available for the game and one, Stephen Kearney, playing in the game despite fracturing his shoulder in two places only 3 weeks ago. Well done to all involved for their efforts and we hope to see you all back in action on the hurling pitch as soon as possible.

SPONSORED 5KM RUN / WALK: Supporting: Cobh Community Hospital & Marymount Hospice Sat 7th Aug. 5km walk from 11:30am. 5km run starts at 12noon.
In the past three years Cobh Gaa Club and its supporters have raised €4875 each for the hospital in Cobh and Marymount Hospice, a total of €9750. Again this year we’re asking all our members, young and old, and their families, to make a special effort to come out and walk/run and help raise much needed funds for our two designated charities. Non-members who wish to take part are welcome to show up on the day and make a donation.
To avoid any clash with the Garda Soccer District leagues some of the juvenile teams will be doing the sponsored Walk/Run on Friday 6th Aug, starting at 6:30pm. Team coaches will notify groups affected by this alteration.
Mary Black Friday 20th August :- tickets ( €30each or 2 for €50 ) are now on sale in the Gaa club pavilion.
