A Busy Day Round Toppa
The people of Cobh were out in force again on Sunday and getting into the Christmas spirit of things. I first visited St.Mary’s National School and was astounded by the turnout. The place was full to the brim with bustling parents and children and the queue for Santa looked to stretch into eternity. There was plenty of buying and selling of cakes etc which were all kindly donated by the parents of children attending the school. Santa arrived on a Fire Engine, courtesy of Cobh Fire Brigade, and the rumour is, although I certainly didn’t witness it, but that when Santa climbed down from the Fire Engine, his trousers fell down. Anyone with a photo of this event might send it to info@cobhedition.com
Also taking place across the street in the Community Centre was the Cobh Arts & Crafts exhibition and sale where approximately thirty stalls were on display. The rain was pretty much toned down for the afternoon, as opposed to Saturday, which definately aided the the great turnout on both sides of the street. Speaking to participants of both events I was given the impression that it was a very lucrative day alround.
