Traditional Tattoo & World Culture Festival

Tattoo artists from all around the globe are set to hit Cobh over the weeked 10/11th July when local pub, The Marlogue Inn plays host to Ireland’s first ever Traditional Tattoo & World Culture Festival. Organised by Phil Cummins, this event will without doubt be a sellout as tattoo lovers will decend on the town for this two-day event.

This is an anthropological journey through tattoo,music,art and dance. There will be a showcase of tattoo artists from across the globe performing various forms of tattoo from hand poking to hand tapping and machine work and beyond. All artists are available to work on the public so come along and be tattooed by some of the most ancient forms and modern forms of the art. The show will also have live perfrmances by the Pony Girls burlesque performers and Appelonia belly dancers, there will be traditional irish music with a live band and traditional irish dance. there will be live bands(t.b.c) and accoustic musicians.Chaos clowns performing and a suspension show.and even a magician floating around the crowd to wow you with his art of illusion. We are also very pleased to announce our special guest speaker ManWoman-the author of Gentle Swastika. ManWoman is the worlds leader in reclaiming the swastika for it true meaning and purpose as a positive symbol of good luck,peace,harmony and love.

The aim of having him here is to try and educate people about the true history and meaning of this powerful and magical symbol. So it can be reclaimed by all and eventually to try and take away the power the nazis have over it.This is an exercise in raising awareness and ManWoman will be here all weekend available to answer questions or quite simply have a chat with over a beer.He is a highly intellectual and spiritual person and I urge all to come along and meet him. There will also be a living art gallery where you can come and meet and talk to extremely tattooed people about their tattoos and the meanings behind them. There is plenty more lined up for the show and they will all be announced on here as they are confirmed. The venue is idyllicly situated by the sea on the island of Cobh and provides a full bar and restaurant.So please come along to this unique event and enjoy the attractions, get tattooed or simply chill out with a beer at the bar. There will be live performances with LYNDA CULLEN AND BAND-irish folk, and outstanding traditional irish music performed by live band Accoustic performances by RAMA(Dublin) and DAMO(Limerick) and live bands to be announced shortly.,
