At the request of the Staff, the Board and in the interest of the local community a public meeting is being held in Cobh Community Centre on Monday 21st June @ 8pm re: The uncertainity that presently exists for Cobh Community Hospital.
To date: The NTPF have advised that the maximum funding rate on offer will be 25% less than present costs.
The HSE will not be permitted to provide “top up” funding.
There has been no statement of Policy from the HSE regarding the future role of Cobh Community Hospital.
Previous HSE Policy (Aging with Confidence) clearly indicated the vital role of The Community Hospital.
The apparent conflict between the role for Cobh Community Hospital envisaged by the Dept of Health through the NTPF and the HSE has given rise to confusion and uncertainty.
So far it has been impossible to get clarification on this vital matter!
