At 10am Mass in Cobh Cathedral on Sunday 16th December 2016, Irish UN peacekeepers who lost their lived on UN missions will be remembered.
Respective flags; Irish UN, Cobh ONE branch, MPAI etc will pay respect. These flags will be raised and dipped to the sound of a ‘TRUMPETER’ at alter during Mass ceremony.
All 26 Irish UN peacekeepers who lost their lives in the ‘CONGO’ between 1960 – 1964 will be mentioned by name during ceremony.
Those who served as Irish UN peacekeepers on UN missions World Wide will be remembered.
