Cork Foundations inaugural Diaspora Photographic Exhibition is on the move once more. Thanks to the Port of Cork, all through the month of August visitors to and from Cobh will be able to view the beautiful images of Cork that were submitted earlier in the year as part of our photographic competition. The three overall winners of the competition, were presented with a prize at the Republic of Work on South Mall back in March.
The exhibition is part of Cork Foundations Diaspora strategy in partnership with Cork County Council. The Foundation wishes to strengthen the connection between those who have left Ireland and/or those who have Irish roots.
To mark the launch of the exhibition we are hosting a reception on Tuesday the 31st of July at Cobh Maritime at 3pm. Minister of State in the Department of Justice and Equality David Stanton as well as Chairperson and acting CEO of Cork Foundation Áine Collins will be in attendance.
Cork Foundation CEO Áine Collins says: ‘We would like to thank Sara Mackeown and everyone at the Port of Cork for allowing us to host our exhibition in Cobh Maritime for the month of August. The exhibition is a perfect opportunity to showcase the wonderful talent of those who submitted their photographs and to reach out to the Cork Diaspora and share with visitors what Cork truly has to offer.’
Commercial Marketing Executive at the Port of Cork, Sara Mackeown said: ‘We are very excited to have the Diaspora Photographic Exhibition on display in Cobh Maritime. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our cruise passengers arriving into Cobh to view the photographs. Cobh Maritime offers free admission every day and we would encourage everyone to call and view the exhibition during August.’
Cork Foundation’s mission is to connect with Cork network globally to support Cork people locally. Don’t miss your chance to see these beautiful images of Cork that will be taking up residence in Cobh Maritime for all of August.
