‘Sonia’ the play coming to the Everyman Theatre, Cork

Sonia O’Sullivan pictured with actor Cora Fenton, who will be playing the role of the star athlete in a new upcoming play. “SONIA” written by award-winning writer John Sheehy, with contributions from Sonia O’Sullivan, celebrates the life of the Olympic and World Champion runner. The production opens at Friar’s Gate, Limerick, September 24th – 29th, and the Everyman, Cork, October 2nd – 5th.

Cora is currently preparing for her role in a brand new play, “SONIA”, which will take to the stage in Limerick and Cork later this year. Presented by CallBack theatre in association with Friars’ Gate theatre, SONIA is a play celebrating one of Cork’s greatest living legends, Olympic and World Champion runner, Sonia O’Sullivan. The play features dramatic visuals and an intense physical performance throughout from Cora. Buckle up for a rollercoaster ride through the highs and lows of the highly competitive and unforgiving world of athletics. All Sonia ever wanted was to run the perfect race. How much would you sacrifice to be the best?
