Fine Gael TD for Cork East and Minister of State at the Department of Justice, David Stanton, is encouraging local groups to apply for the €30 million Regional Enterprise Development Fund, launched by the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys TD.

Minister Stanton has welcomed the fund, saying: “The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation is seeking innovative and collaborative initiatives from groups in both the public and private sectors. These groups will work together to build on our regional strengths under the following categories: Major Regional Change Projects, Regionally Significant Change Projects, Local and Community Enterprise Development Initiatives and Industry Clusters.

“I strongly encourage all interested companies or groups to check their eligibility at https://www.enterprise-ireland.com/en/Start-a-Business-in-Ireland/Information-Store-for-Start-ups/Regional-Enterprise-Development-Fund.html. The deadline for applications is 28th June 2018 with each region securing a minimum of €2 million once projects meet the necessary standards. Given the highly competitive nature of the process, I would urge those interested to begin working on their application without delay” said Minister Stanton.

“Regional jobs are a priority for the Government and this fund has been developed as part of the strategy to boost growth in rural Ireland. The fund is being administered through Enterprise Ireland with further information available at www.enterprise-ireland.com.”
