Avril Ronan is the Global Programme Manager for Trend Micro’s Internet Safety for Kids and Families. On 5th April she delivered an engaging and practical talk called “Internet Safety for Everyone”. Even though a large amount of the content focused on child safety online, the reality is that these key safety principles can be applied across ALL ages. Avril gave many practical tips of how to be safe online and sign posted a number of further resources that parents and everybody can access at any stage.
This event was organised by Breaking The Silence in partnership with Cobh Lions Club. We have a number of sponsors who were absolutely key in making this event happen. They are as follows; Commodore Hotel Cobh, Cobh Edition and Garvey’s Super Valu.
REMINDER that Trend Micro are running their What’s Your Story competition with an opportunity to win €2000, deadline is 17th April and it’s a video competition designed to hear your views on being online! Further details available via https://whatsyourstory.trendmicro.ie/
Should you have any queries in relation to any aspect of this talk or require further information please do not hesitate to get in touch.
For further information on the FREE courses we provide in Suicide Prevention & Intervention plus Self Harm please check out our facebook page “Breaking The Silence Cobh”.
