Smart New Look For Cobh Tourism Ambassadors
To complement the very distinctive green vests, Cobh Tourism Ambassadors recently received new branded jackets which means that whatever the weather they can still be comfortable.
Cobh Tourism Ambassadors have been on the streets of Cobh welcoming and greeting visitors since April 2011. The programme was set up by Cobh Tourism and at the time the Cobh Tourism Ambassador volunteers were the second group established in Ireland. The scheme has since been replicated throughout Ireland. In Cobh, the adult ambassadors are joined each year by second level students.
Many of the original Ambassadors are still volunteering and find it to be a very satisfying experience, helping visitors by giving directions to the Cathedral, the Pharmacy, the best cup of coffee or even just where to get free WiFi!
The welcome given and interaction with visitors to our town is very important to make Cobh a destination of choice for tourists.
If would like to join the team of Cobh Tourism Ambassadors, please contact Ursula Duffy on 085 1668271. The commitment is just 2 hours a week in the summer months at times that suit you.
