Results: JHL: Cobh 2-18 Killeagh 2-10. IH challenge: Cobh 3-13 Castletownroche 2-16 IHL Dromina 2-15 Cobh 4-09.   U12FC: Carrignavar 1-2, Cobh 3-12. The U12 football team travelled to Carrignavar for the U12 football championship with some good league performances behind them. The League result between the teams suggested this could be a close game, and Carrignavar started well getting 1-1 to 0-0 on the scoreboard during the early exchanges. However the Cobh team settled, and begun to play with great confidence, with the assistance of a small breeze. By half time, Cobh had built up a decent lead (1-7 to 1-2). Carrignavar started the second half with great energy, and it looked as if they could start to close the gap. However the Cobh team weathered the storm with great determination, particularly from centre back David Coffey, and midfielders Niall Spriggs and Adam O’Sullivan. Very soon we began scoring again and we added 2-5 to our score, whilst holding Carrignavar scoreless in the second half. Both Barry Chandler (1-1) and Pádí Kearney (Capt.) had great performances against taller opponents. Cobh made great use of the full width of the pitch, with great attacking play starting from our wing half backs Jack O’Brien and Jeffrey McCarthy linking with very hard working wing and corner forwards. All the team and substitutes who played can be proud of what was a great full match performance which delivered on the great promise displayed at various stages during the league campaign. The team are now into the league and championship semi-finals with both games being against Glenville. Community Games Long Puck (U12): 1st Ciarán Leahy, 2nd Christian Field, 3rd Niall Spriggs.   Under 12 training takes place each Monday and Friday – see www.cobhgaa.com for details.
