chip‘Cork Harbour Islands Project (C.H.I.P.) will be holding their next Exhibition ‘Men and Women of The South – Cobh’s Revolutionary Legacy’ in the marvellous exhibition space at Cobh Maritime Building in the Railway Station, Cobh opening on 10th September at 2pm. This year’s Exhibition will focus on the Cobh men who were involved in the revolutionary period and who have been commemorated in the town by having a street or an estate called after them . The Exhibition will look at their lives, activities during the war of independence or civil war, and the process by which it was decided to honour them in the town. We would also be recognising the input of the many Cobh women who were involved in this important period of time in our country’s history.

We would like to cordially invite you to attend the Official Opening. It is also hoped that any relatives of these men and women and any of those living in the estates (such as O’Halloran Place/Moores Place/Glavins,Stack and O’Sullivan’s Place, O’Neill’s Place, O’Donovans Place, Joe Reid Place, Michael Burke Tce, Clonmult Tce, Aherne Place etc)would also attend. The Exhibition, which is FREE and will run for approx 6 weeks will be open every day 11-4pm.
