The 2016 Schull Triathlon on Saturday 11th of June saw members of the club head west for their annual club event. There was a marginally smaller field entry from Cobh, but what the club certainly made up for in the quality of performances, with a smattering of podium finishes.
In a field of over 300 triathletes Jess Bruton was the 1st Female over the line – a wonderful performance in a highly competitive National Series race. She was followed by brother Michael 2nd in his category and dad Pat Bruton 1st in his category. Further down the field was Michael McDonnell 3rd in category, Norman Allen 3rd in his category and Frances Buckley 1st and Ann Kelleher 2nd in their category.
That’s a total of 7 podiums from an entry of 20, very impressive. Well done all. Everyone did exceptionally well with a good few PB’s.
